Mobile Shiftlock

WOS ships an adapted, improved mobile shiftlock based on this community model. On phones and tablets, Roblox does not offer shiftlock or any equivalent.

Supported from v0.7.0 onward (present in all current installs).

Dragging

Mobile players can reposition the button:

1. Press and hold the shiftlock control for about 0.7 seconds.
2. The control enlarges and becomes slightly transparent, this means that you’re in drag mode.
3. Drag it anywhere on the screen.
4. Release to place it.

The chosen position is saved for that player. On a different aspect ratio or resolution, it may sit slightly off from where they left it (that’s expected).

Tips

• Test on a real device or the Studio device emulator; desktop Play won’t show the mobile control the same way.
• If the button never enters drag mode, make sure the hold lasts a full ~0.7s before moving.
• There were previous issues with Mobile Shiftlock, so stay on v0.8.6 if you can.
